33 years ago today, the world unfortunately lost Ian Curtis, lead singer of Joy Division. Ian was a very talented lyricist and singer, who despite helping start the post-punk era in Manchester with his band, suffered from severe afflictions of epilepsy and depression. This is my favorite live recording of a Joy Division song ever, and I hope people will take some time to watch it and appreciate the music.

If you play the Dream Theater albums Scenes From a Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, Train of Thought and Octavarium all together in that order, it creates an epic 5-hour continuous META-ALBUM.
IT’S AMAZING AND YOU SHOULD TRY IT.
Even if you don’t like Dream Theater.

Jeff Hanneman, one of the founding guitarists of the pioneering thrash metal band Slayer, died today in Southern California of liver failure.
Not a huge slayer fan, but this caught my attention. R.I.P. Jeff.

Wow. I’ve just come across what may be the only video footage of Nick Drake In existence. For those of you who don’t know, Nick Drake was a folk singer and guitarist who received almost no recognition for his work during his lifetime, and unfortunately passed away at age 26 in 1974. He remained almost completely unnoticed until 1999 when Volkswagen used his song “Pink Moon” in one of their commercials.
